2021 Women's Clay Court Tennis Cup Rules
- Structure
- Matches will be played on Tuesdays and will begin at 9am or 11am unless another arrangement is made between opposing team captains.
- There should be some flexibility and consideration with starting times when needed due to the ongoing pandemic.
- A team will have 3 doubles partnerships.
- Player Eligibility
- A player may only be rostered on one team perleague.
- Substitute Eligibility
- A player may substitute within her own division.
- A single player may substitute on a higher or lower division and move up or down 2 positions only.
- A partnership may substitute on a higher or lower division. This partnership may move up or down only one position.
- If a player is added to a roster after the league begins her name must be entered into the website by her captain within 24 hours of the conclusion of the match.
- Please use the above guidelines as a last resort as every effort should be made to not stack positions and to have fair play.
- Captains
- Must ensure all of their players have been entered into the website.
- Home captains need to call the visiting teams captains at least 48 hours prior to their match.
- Home captains must advise the visiting captain of any rules, restrictions, COVID protocols and dress codes.
- Captains will exchange their team line ups simultaneously and should not change once they have been exchanged.
- The home captain will record match scores on the website within 24 hours of the conclusion of all her team's matches.
- Captains must enter additional and permanently rostered players on the website during the season.
- In a weekly line-up of positions, a partnership may move up and down only one position. An individual player may play any position with a different partner.
- League Play
- All league play will follow rules, regulations, and courtesies of the USTA. All matches are the best of three tie break sets and must be played to completion. The 12 point Coman tiebreak will be used.
- The home team will provide New USTA approved balls appropriate to the surface.
- In case of inclement weather, the matches will not move indoors. The match may be rescheduled if both teams agree, if not it will count as a default for both teams.
- A fifteen minute grace period is allowed for players arriving late. More than 15 minutes will result in a default.
- Forfeits
- In any given match, if a team must forfeit, the forfeit will occur in the third position.
- If a team must forfeit two positions, these will occur in the second and third positions.
